Carole won four Grammys for her 1971 work that year, including Album of the Year for Tapestry, which was the 2nd best-selling album of the year for both 1971 (behind Jesus Christ Superstar) and 1972 (behind Neil Young’s Harvest), eventually on the chart for over 300 consecutive weeks. She also became the first woman to win Song of the Year for “You’ve Got a Friend.” via Billboard
