Neil Young in Buffalo Springfield, 1967, by Henry Diltz

Neil Young joins Led Zeppelin at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 1995 for a 9-minute jam on 1971′s “When The Levee Breaks” from Led Zeppelin IV

Things get so out of control that even Robert picks up a guitar to squall! Along the way, a nifty little insertion of Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth”! A messy, unholy racket, in a good way. LOL

CRYIN’ WON’T HELP YOU, PRAYIN’ WON’T DO YOU NO GOOD. Seriously y’all, turn this tf UP.

That’s Michael Lee on drums, btw. Following runs with The Cult, Echo & The Bunnymen, and Thin Lizzy, he’d played with Robert solo, then with Page & Plant, hence being part of the festivities this particular evening….

Salli is one of the true legends of rock and roll, spanning everything from acting in six Annette Funicello-Frankie Avalon pictures to being den mother of the Laurel Canyon commune owned by Peter Tork, where CSN, Joni Mitchell, and so many others hung out, and much more. She became CSN’s official tour photographer in 1969 (including their gig at Altamont), and has a bunch of other amazing stories to tell. Fortunately for us, she’s working on a book about those days. In the meantime, you can read more about her here.
