I love that he’s saving Jimmy’s doubleneck from the mayhem! … But I strongly dislike the beard here, waaayy to full on the sides. The rest of him though 👌

I love that he’s saving the guitar too! The beard’s days are numbered, though. The very next show after this was August 7 at Montreux – clean shaven! I don’t know exactly when in there he lost the beard, but I have no doubt that one of you knows!

This March 5 show debuted 4 songs that would appear on Led Zeppelin IV later that year: “Stairway to Heaven”, “Black Dog”, “Rock and Roll”, and “Going to California”.

And maybe it’s me having grown up in a Yiddish neighborhood in Brooklyn, but Jimmy’s hat, beard, and curled forelock looking very Orthodox to me, in a good way.
